- Description
- The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Natick Contracting Division, has a requirement to procure the services of a Principle Investigator/Technical Subject Matter Expert. This is in support of the United States Army Medical Material Development Activity's (USAMMDA) ongoing Phase II multi-center, placebo controlled study researching the effects of hyperbaric oxygen in mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) wounded warriors with Intermountain Health Care under the authority of FAR Subpart 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(A) and (B). Intermountain Health Care has provided subject matter expertise in the area of hyperbaric oxygen research for the last four years initially through an Interpersonal Agreement sponsored by the Navy followed by a contract awarded through the Army Contracting Command. Intermountain Health Care has been instrumental in supporting the development of this novel project and subsequent regulatory and human protection documents to establish the study. They have assured that safety standards for all chamber locations have been met and that training has been provided to the study staff to assure compliance with hyperbaric operation standards. The study continues to make progress and requires that current scientific leadership remain in order to continue towards reaching programmatic objectives, to avoid significant delays to the program, and loss of substantial funds already invested in labor to develop all of the scientific documentation and research measures to support the DoD's goals within this study. This continued effort will be for an additional 9 month period of performance. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement to the U.S. Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division via e-mail to: Nathan.c.jordan.civ@us.mail.mil no later than 9:00 a.m. on January 27, 2013.
