- The VA Medical Center, Bath, New York (hereafter "The VA" or "VA"), located at 76 Veterans Avenue, Bath NY, 14810, has a requirement to Renovate Rooms in Hospital, Bldg. 76. The work includes but is not limited to the following: Room 235 2nd floor of B-76: The contractor is responsible to remove existing counters and cabinets as located within contract drawings. The contractor is responsible to disconnect and cap existing utilities; patching walls/floor where needed; install new cove base, if not present; and repaint the space. 321 & Accompanying rooms noted with 321 (A-D) 3rd floor of B-76: Existing spaces known as 321, 321A, 321C, & 321D shall be renovated to newly sized spaces of 321 & 321A, a new space designated as 321B and a renovated 321D. The contractor is responsible to renovate the spaces to that described by the design drawings and specifications. All existing spaces shall require abatement of ACM 9x9 floor tile and mastic. The contractor shall be responsible for removal of the ACM in accordance with all NYS and Federal laws. 321D shall receive new floor tile, wall patching, and new paint. 321 and 321B shall receive a new wall (floor to existing hard ceiling), new floor tile, rewiring of lighting, new paint, and electric needs per contract drawings. New 321A shall receive new carpet tile flooring, electrical needs, patching (wall and floor), and painting along with a new door, frame and door hardware. All work shall be as described in the drawings in further detail. Room 407 Door and opening 4th floor of B-76: The contractor is responsible to provide services to remove and dispose of the existing door and frame to room 407. They are also responsible to increase the size of the door opening and to provide the door and frame described per the contract drawings. Services shall include wall repair, floor and terrazzo repair and painting. The VA intends to release this as a competitive Request for Quotation (RFQ). The applicable NAICS code for this project is 236220, "COMMERCIAL AND INSTITUTIONAL BUILDING CONSTRUCTION." The estimated construction value of this project falls within the range of $25,000 to $100,000. This project is 100% Set-Aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB). The RFQ is expected to be released on or about January 11, 2013. Unless additional notice is given or this notice is modified, the full RFQ will be posted to the Government-wide Point of Entry (www.fbo.gov). This is a presolicitation notice synopsizing an upcoming competitive solicitation to satisfy the requirements of FAR 5.201 and 5.203.
