- This is a Request for Information (RFI) ONLY! This is not a request for proposal, but a survey to locate potential sources for planning purposes. No further information is available from the Contracts Division. This synopsis/RFI does not constitute an Invitation for Bids, Request for Proposals, nor a Request for Quotations, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue an order or otherwise pay for the information solicited. The Government is not responsible for any cost incurred in furnishing this information. All information received in response to this notice that is marked quote mark Proprietary quote mark will be handled accordingly. Responses shall not include any classified material. Responses received to this notice will not be returned. No reimbursement will be made for any costs to provide information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. Information contained herein is based on the best information available at the time for publication, is subject to revision, and is not binding upon the Government. Availability of any future formal solicitation will be announced under a separate Federal Business Opportunities announcement. A.Objective: The intent of this RFI is to determine all possible sources for this requirement. The primary North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code of 335999 will be used. It is the intent of the Government to use the information received from this RFI, as a method of market research for soliciting a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Contract, to a contractor who demonstrates their ability to meet the Government's technical requirements related to this effort. Based on this, interested contractors are asked to provide information on their technical capabilities with respect to the specifications below. B.Specifications: The Army Research Laboratory (ARL) is interested in one (1) water-cooled Direct Current (DC) power supply with the following specifications: 1)The DC power supply shall have a minimum power output of 50 kilowatts (kW) while operating at a voltage level of 30 kilovolts (kV). 2)The DC power supply shall have a single rack mountable unit with dimensions of 19 quote mark x 22 quote mark x 12.25. quote mark 3)Mountable, Single Rack Due to the diversity of the experiments conducted on state of the art pulse power and power conditioning systems, a high power, high voltage power supply is needed. The power supply must be a single rack unit with the capability to move from one test stand to another. Responses to this RFI are due no later than 11:59 PM Eastern Time 2 January, 2013.
