Description
Wire Rope a. 1-1/8 quote mark - 6X19 IWRC 304 Stainless Steel Wire Rope; Three segments; each segment approximately 1350 LF. Field measurements shall be required with submittals. Wire rope shall comply with buy American Act. All required terminations and endings as required by manufacturer shall be provided. All associated lubricants, spool/de-spooling, alignment and twist / de-twisting arrangements and equipment shall be provided for installation. b. The wire ropes shall be wound on spools in the same direction as they were bent during manufacturing. The spools shall be covered for protection from rain, snow and road spatter during shipping. After delivery, the wire ropes shall be stored in storage area designated by the government at time of delivery on site. c. Upon delivery to the storage area, the wire ropes shall be inspected in the presence of the government personnel. In particular, the wire rope shall be inspected for dings, kinks or other damage. The wire ropes shall be reeled from spool to spool in order to allow complete inspection of the wire ropes over their entire length. The Contractor shall perform the unreeling/reeling operation, and furnish extra spools or any other equipment required. Upon completion of the inspection, furnish the Contracting Officer with a written report of the results. d. Submit Pre-Stretching Procedures. The manufacturer shall pre-stretch the wire rope. This shall be done by subjecting them to three cycles at 40 percent of its nominal strength. The 40 percent loads shall be held for 5 minutes with 5 percent loads for 5 minutes between cycles. The manufacturer may propose a method of dynamic pre-stretching. e. Wire Strength and Ductility: The Manufacturer shall perform testing in accordance with FS RRW- 410 to verify wire strength and ductility. Submit test results prior to delivery. f. Provide (4) quote mark Chinese Fingers quote mark LSGX 1-1/2 quote mark for installation of wire rope. g. Clearly flag and dye mid-point of wire.
