- Description
- The Library of Congress (LOC) Thomas Jefferson Building (TJB) was completed in 1897. The building's mass is divided into a series of pavilions that are connected by wings referred to as "Curtains." The West main Pavilion (WMP) serves as the building's main public entry and formal lobby. WMP's interior is the historically significant Great Hall and Galleries, ornately decrated and painted. The First Floor area is approximately 11,600 Sq. Ft. surrounding the Great Hall that leads to the Main Reading Room. The requirement of the pending contract is for the delivery of factory-molded, glass-fiber-reinforced plaster fabricated faux cornices which is to accommodate all of the required utilities and wire management of the various devices located around the galleries such as lighting, smoke detection and etc. The estimated linear square feet of the faux cornice is 300. The different design types are estimated at 6. The total estimated number of separate pieces is 30. Architectural drawing will be provided by the Architect of the Capitol in the final solicitation. Contractor Services and Scope: Contractor shall conduct onsite visit for field measurements and the taking of molding samples of the existing cornice style needed replication and provide the facilities, all tools, equipment, and materials to furnish (NO INSTALLATION REQUIRED BY CONTRACTOR) and deliver faux cornices and auxiliary materials required for a complete installation including integrated aluminum brackets and plate components and connection hardware in accordance with the Statement of Work and the drawings and specifications. Contractor shall provide Warranty, Shop Drawings, Coordination Drawings, Product Data, Samples and Mock-ups for AOC approval. Contractor is responsible for verifications of all field dimensions and surveys. The purpose of this sources sought is to seek capable companies to compete for this procurement in the near future. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement must immediately provide written notification to the Contracting Officer. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements listed (Site visit for field measurements, manufacturing, shop drawings, product data, samples and mockups). Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action is solely within the discretion or the Government. Please limit your capability statements to three examples and no more than 15 pages. Please provide your response electronically to the email above or via fax.
