Description
The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) requires the services of a qualified contractor to provide three (3) super prime movers; to include training for operation of equipment and maintenance. Equipment proposed must be in accordance with requirements stated herewith and further specified in Part III, Technical Specifications, of this solicitation. The Prime-Mover shall be capable of moving rolling stock of 120 tons GVW up a 5 % grade and 240 tons GVW down a 5 % grade. The Prime-Mover shall be capable of pulling two (2) flat-cars of 40 tons GVW each over the entire transit system and maintain a minimum speed of 25 MPH when traveling on grades of 2 ½ %. Equipment must be capable of negotiating all WMATA track. If an amendment is issued resulting from questions and answers, it will be posted on our website. Your proposal must be received with all required submittals as stated in the RFP, no later than 2:00 PM, January 4, 2013, at WMATA, Office of Procurement and Materials, 600 Fifth Street, NW, Room 301A, Washington, DC 20001-2651.
