Description

The NF/SG Malcom Randall VA Medical Center, Gainesville Florida intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to Siemens Industry Inc., 4579-A NW 6th Street, Gainesville Florida 32609. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) - only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Continental Water System service is currently provided by Siemens Water Technology. The equipment currently in place is exclusive to the vendor. The change of service would result in the removal of equipment as Siemens only allows for Siemens trained technician to work on their products. The government intends to acquire a commercial service using FAR part 12. The NAICS code is 221310 with a size standard of $7 million. Interested parties may submit their capabilities and qualifications to supply this commercial item via email to carol.mcneill@va.gov no later than 11/20/2013 by 9 a.m. EST. Please reference the solicitation number in the subject line of your email. Such capabilities and qualifications will be evaluated solely of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. This notice of intent to sole source is NOT a request for quotation (RFQ) for competitive quotes. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. This solicitation incorporates by reference FAR parts: 52.212-4 -Contract Terms and Conditions - Commercial Items. 52.212-5-Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items.
