- ** UPDATE 20 NOVEMBER 2012 ** Solicitation anticipated to be posted NLT January 2013. Specific date not available at this time. SYNOPSIS & REQUEST FOR INFORMATION This is not a request for proposals. No additional information will be provided at this time. All potential offerors will have an opportunity to submit questions once the solicitation has been issued. Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Pacific Procurement intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) on/about 30 March 2012 to award a firm fixed price indefinite-quantity contract for custodial services. The contractor shall provide all labor, tools, equipment, supervision, and transportation necessary to provide custodial services as required for each location of the Department of Defense Dependents Schools (DoDDS) - Okinawa schools and facilities; 13 schools and 2 office buildings. The work includes general custodial services, annual/seasonal custodial services and administration efforts. Period of performance will be 1 August 2012 - 31 July 2017 (base period with four 12-month option periods). This acquisition will be solicited as a full and open competitive procurement using the procedures in FAR Part 12 - Commercial Items and FAR Part 15 - Contracting by Negotiations. Award shall be made to the responsible offeror whose offer conforms to the solicitation and provides the "Best Value" to the Government, price and technical factors considered. Potential offerors must be actively registered in Central Contractor Registry (CCR) to be eligible for award (website: http://www.ccr.gov). REQUEST FOR INFORMATION: We are requesting information regarding industry capabilities for custodial services to improve the understanding of Government requirements. Interested parties should provide inputs in writing to Ms. Jennifer Knutson, Contract Specialist at Jennifer.Knutson@pac.dodea.edu no later than 5:00 pm, Wednesday, 15 February 2012, Eastern Standard Time / 7:00 am, Thursday, 16 February 2012, Japan Standard Time. 1. How many years of experience does your organization have with providing custodial services specifically for school facilities? 2. What is the standard commercial pricing structure used to price custodial services? For example, are services priced per square meter, square foot, hour, facility/building. 3. What are the primary categories of custodial services and what tasks are generally performed under each category? 4. List performance metrics or standards that are used by the industry to measure performance or quality of services? 5. Is a site visit required if floor plans are provided which identify the flooring type (carpet, tile, cement) and square meter measurements? Due to the quantity of facilities at various locations, a site visit may not be practicable.
