Description
Disposal of contaminated material Contaminated material at USAG Grafenwoehr shall be disposed of according to Host Nation regulations. • 1,500 t contaminated soil (Z 1.2 acc. to LAGA PN98) • 2,000 t contaminated soil (Z 2 acc. to LAGA PN98) • 500 t contaminated soil (DK1 acc. to DepV) • 1,400 t contaminated asphalt (PAH concentration differing between >30 mg/kg and <1,000mg/kg). Asphalt comes from different locations. • Taking of 8 composite samples and analysis acc. to LAGA PN98 • Additional analysis of one sample on additional required parameters of DepV • Taking of at least 2 composite samples of asphalt, analysis on PAH & phenol index Additional work required: • site establishment at up to 6 sites • Loading and transport of above mentioned material to an accredited disposal facility • After loading is complet at one site, the surface of the site and dirty roads shall be be cleaned and decontaminated • Preparation and signing of all paperwork required by Host Nation for proper disposal (e.g. EVN, Begleitschenverfahren etc.) • The contractor has to prove the proper disposal of the quantities of the contaminated material. • All documents required for proper disposal (e.g. EVN etc) have to be submitted to the COR 2 weeks prior to start of disposal for approval. • Work reports have to be submitted to the COR on a daily basis. • For working in a contaminated area, the contractor is responsible to inform the German Host Nation authorities (Gewerbeaufsichtsamt, Berufsgenossenschaft, Wasserwirtschaftsamt, Landratsamt etc.) in accordance with the U.S. authorities and the user of the facility. This needs to be scheduled before the start of the construction work. • The Contractor shall submit all disposal tickets with the project completion report to verify actual disposal costs and quantities. The results of field work shall be documented in a summary report (drawings and text). The results of the analyses shall be presented in tables with corresponding threshold values of the appropriate host nation regulations. • An Environmental Report shall be submitted to the COR at completion of the fieldwork. The report shall include description of the location, site conditions, description of work, analyses of the taken samples with interpretation and recommendation, sampling protocols as well as photos and drawings. • Each edition of the Environmental Report has to include a CD-Rom in MS Word Format and PDF Format with all the data in one file. Drawings need to be in Microstation-Format or in a scanned format. • The following number of copies of the report shall be submitted: Draft version for review: 1 (german) Final version: 6 (german) & 1 (english)
