Description
Request for Information (Sources Sought Notice) W912EK-13-RFI002 GEOMAGNETIC TRAFFIC COUNTERS The Rock Island District, US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking information on firms that can provide magnetometer traffic counters. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 334519 - Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing - for USACE Lake Red Rock Project Office, Knoxville, Iowa. Geomagnetic Traffic Counter Description: Traffic Counters should be compact using a tiny magnetometer and advanced embedded software to detect passing vehicles. Count vehicles from up to 6 meters (20 feet) away, allowing coverage of two lanes from a roadside installation. If the unit is buried at the roadside, no road cuts or special tools should be required. The counter's detection range should be user-programmable, and should be adjusted for single lane or two lane counting. The Traffic Counter should be pre-programmed and ready to use as a OHV Counter or a Mountain Bike Counter. All parts should be contained in one small, rugged, weather-proof box. The Traffic Counter should be well suited for rugged, rural and remote roads. The Traffic Counters should be compatible with the Dock, which is the interface between Counter and a PC. The dock can also be used as a stand-alone "shuttle" (i.e., data downloader) to retrieve data from counters in the field. The Dock has two modes: PC Mode: for connecting a counter to a desktop, laptop or pocket PC, to configure a counter's settings or download data. Shuttle Mode: for downloading data from counters in the field, without a PC. Just connect the dock, and it automatically downloads data and launches a counter. Multi-user DataNet subscription plan to analyze, manage, store and share data. LCD tally display should be mounted on each counter; showing a simple running total. This announcement is part of our market research, and your responses are sought to identify sources that have the capabilities of providing Geomagnetic Traffic Counters for the Lake Red Rock Project Office. Interested contractors, including small businesses that qualify under NAICS Code 334290 are hereby invited to submit a response to the market survey to demonstrate their technical product capability will meet the needs of the Government. It is anticipated that the Government will issue a firm fixed price. THIS SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A REQUEST FOR A FORMAL PROPOSAL.
