- SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS FOR Actuator, Seat Retraction Thruster B-1 Bomber Aircraft Department of the Air Force, Air Force Materiel Command, AFLCMC/EBHKB PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION This is a Source Sought Synopsis announcement, market research for information only, to be used for preliminary planning purposes. This market research is being conducted to identify potential sources possessing the engineering and manufacturing knowledge to remanufacture the seat retraction thruster actuator used on the B-1B aircraft. The seat retraction thruster actuator is a ballistically actuated, oil damped thruster that retracts the seat carriage to the full aft and locked position as part of the emergency escape sequence to correctly position the ejection seat. It is mounted under the seat between a fitting on the seat carriage and a cross-member of the carriage track which is tied into the aircraft structure. The Government does not have funds available to support second source qualification efforts. No proposal is requested or accepted from synopsis. This is not a solicitation for proposal and no contract shall be awarded from this synopsis. The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command, AFLCMC/EBHKB, Hill AFB is conducting a market survey for the following requirements. National Stock Number Part Number 1377-01-285-3109ES 816950-11 INSTRUCTION Provide relevant experience to include performing engineering, manufacturing, inspection, and testing of similar components in the last 5 years. Company Profile will include the following: A. Number of employees. B. Office Location C. CAGE Code D. DUNS Number E. Small Business designation/status claimed No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow up information requests. The Government has very limited technical data to provide to potential offerors. Offerors must possess access to all appropriate data. Pacific Scientific Energetic Materials Company (PSEMC), Hollister, CA has the capability and drawings for the actuator and the government does not own or have the rights to use the data required to manufacture this device. Interested offerors shall respond to this Source Sought Synopsis no later than 3:00 PM 20 November 2012.
