This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, intends to procure on a sole source basis BFTT Systems and associated hardware to be assembled, configured, aligned, integrated and tested from Kontron America Incorporated, 14118 Stowe Dr., Poway, CA 92064-7147. The basis for the sole source is that Kontron, via an acquisition of AP Labs, has a patented and proprietary military equipment rack currently utilized in the BFTT system deployed to the fleet. Kontron incorporates proprietary board designs and ruggedized chassis featuring custom wiring configurations and a thermal management system. Only Kontron owns the proprietary design drawings, manufacturing processes and integration/test procedures necessary to produce the required items.
