Description
A sole source procurement is being contemplated with Sunshine Aero Industries Inc., 3164 Airport Rd., Crestview, FL 32539. The Air Force Research Laboratory, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida desires to purchase services for a 5-day captive carry mission in support of an international research and development program. The USAF needs to acquire data from 5 days of captive carry flights of government-provided experimental Instrumentation/camera systems. The captive carry flight test required under this action is the third in a series of five such flight tests for the Airborne Image Gyro program. SAI has conducted the first two on a Beechcraft B-18 aircraft, and this third test will require a KingAir100 aircraft to achieve higher airspeeds. The U.S. Air Force purchased an internal computer rack from SAI which is FAA-certified for use on both aircrafts. The U.S. Air Force provides the external camera pod for attachment under the belly of the aircraft. SAI has modified the two aircraft with structures to carry external loads, and each of the plane's carriage hardware (though different) has been FAA-approved for the appropriate aircraft. The USAF designed the attachment hardware for the pod to fit the specialized design of SAI's carriage hardware. Due to FAA requirements, no other source is capable of performing these services within the time requirements. However all interested parties may submit statements of capabilities(SOC) which should, if possible, include at least three references from customers who have purchase the above services. These will be considered if received by noon central time 20 Nov 2012.
