Areas requesting support are listed below; however FEMA reserves the option to extend this requirement to all affected disaster areas. Video Remote Interpreting is an on-line sign language interpreting service in the event in-person ASL interpreters are not available. Transmissions must be performed in accordance with the Advanced Encryption Standard. There needs to be 24/7 operations and all staff providing VRI must be certified at the two (2) highest levels of NAD (National Association of the Deaf), RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) or state equivalent. Technical support services must be available to troubleshoot failed calls and other related customer service issues. FEMA request sources also provide an estimate of the costs associated with service requested. This RFI may serve as a combined Request for Information/Synopsis/Request for Quotation (RFQ) based on the urgency relating to the disaster response recovery efforts the RFI is being issued in support of. The Government reserves the right to make an award(s) based on the information provided in response to this RFI. However the Government is not obligated to make an award as a result of this RFI. If an award(s) is considered it shall be issued based on the best overall value to the government.
