Description
This notice is a Request for Information (RFI) and is not a Request for Proposal (RFP). This RFI is for informational purposes only and the government will not award a contract on the basis of this notice or otherwise pay for information solicited by it. Proprietary information should be clearly marked. The requested information is for planning and market research purposes only and will not be publicly released. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this RFI are not offers and cannot be accepted by the government to form a binding contract. Project Manager, Defense Communications and Army Transmission Systems (PM DCATS), Product Director Vehicular Intercommunication Systems (PD VIS) Fort Belvoir, VA is seeking information for Vehicle Intercom Systems (VIS) from experienced providers of tactical vehicle intercom systems and associated support services. There is no requirement for backwards compatibility with past or current VIS products. The VIS will be used by crew members in Light, Medium and Heavy Tactical Wheeled Vehicles (e.g. HMMWVs and Trucks) and/or tracked combat vehicles (e.g. Bradley and Abrams Tanks) The VIS must provide intercom services among 2-20 crew members The VIS must at a minimum interface up to (12) vehicle radio systems of varying types to include, but not limited to the following: -VRC-110 (PRC-152) -VRC-89-92 -VRC-103 (PRC-117F/G) -VRC-104 (PRC) -PRC-148 via VRC-111 -PRC-154 Riflemen -PRC-155 Manpack Request that you also provide information regarding the capabilities of VIS related technologies for the following: -Wireless Options -Radio Control from C4ISR -Remote Radio Control -Ethernet Interface -External Network Interface Element (IPv4, IPv6, VoIP) -Networked Radios -Dual Enclave Security (Separation of secure/non-secure data) -Expanded Audio Options - Binaural, Circum-aural, 3D audio -LED Dimming Control -CANBus Interface for Alarms The VIS will be frequently used in high-noise environments and should support Active Noise Reduction (ANR) headsets (e.g. Bose Triport Tactical Headset) and noise-canceling microphones which will provide acoustic protection to the Soldier. The equipment must be a robust, ruggedized, stand-alone system that operates under severe environmental conditions and is highly reliable. It must be contractor logistically supportable in a combat environment. Large and small businesses that have the capability to provide tactical VIS and associated support services for the system described above are requested to respond to this RFI. Small business is defined by North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 334290 (750 employees or less).
