The NAICS code for this procurement is 238160. The project is planned to be issued on or about January 2013. The construction will occur in the spring of 2013 and is expected to take one to two months. The estimated construction cost is between $100,000 and $500,000.00. The work of this project involves demolishing, removing, and properly disposing of the existing built-up roof, and the installation of a new membrane roof on the Fox Point Hurricane Barrier pump station building. This building is approximately 10,000 square feet in size, and also contains three expansion joints, five large roof fans, associated louvers under the fans, and large hoods covering the fans. There also approximately six small vent stacks, as well as an entry hatch, and associated welded hand rails that will also need to be replaced. Asbestos testing has been completed, and asbestos is present in the flashing mastic present at the penetrations and the expansion joints, as well as at the edges. Interested firms should submit a capabilities package to include the following: business classification (i.e. HUBZone, etc.) as well as qualifications and experience in performing the work components stated above. Firms must submit past demonstrated experience with installing membrane roofs, as well as successfully removing and disposing of built-up roofs, and asbestos-containing building materials. Subcontractors may be used to demonstrate this past experience. This experience must have been performed within the last five years. Responses are due by November 9, 2012.
