- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Benefits Administration, Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Section, is seeking the potential source of a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Business (and all other socio-economic categories) with experience in home modifications for a project in Buxton, Maine. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, supplies, equipment and qualified personnel to provide the following: BID ITEM #1: Kitchen - Install owner-provided wall oven and cooktop with modifications, to include all carpentry, finish, electrical and plumbing required to make appliances and fixtures fully operational. Also modify existing sink cabinet and provide and install flooring. Provide and install new laminate over existing countertop. Provide new through-wall exhaust fan and install under existing cabinet. BID ITEM #2: Bathroom - Remove existing sink cabinet, construct new pony wall, reinstall sink and faucet in new countertop. Remove existing toilet, provide and install new bariatric solution comfort seat or equal. Provide and install three new stainless steel ADA grab bars; Provide and Install new Guardian Voyager Easytrack ceiling lift system or equal. BID ITEM #3: Stairway Chairlift - Furnish and install new straight-run, electrically powered stair lift. Includes removal of kitchen door to basement; demolish trim and wall to increase width of opening; paint exposed finishes; provide and install new proper size door in new finished opening. BID ITEM #4: Propane Generator - Furnish and install new LP Standby generator, concrete mounting pad, automatic transfer switch and all necessary electrical work. Furnish and install LP piping and accessories to connect to existing exterior propane tank. BID ITEM #5: Enlarge Four Door Openings - Provide and install associated doors, hardware, gypsum wallboard and paint. BID ITEM #6: Kitchen Pass-Through - Enlarge existing opening in kitchen/living room wall to create single opening, to include new framing, drywall, trim and paint. BID ITEM #7: Patio Door - Remove existing sliding glass door and replace with new double-left French door to fit in existing door opening. Provide paint and trim as required. Provide ADA modular ramp to porch; provide ADA modular ramp at door to sunroom from porch. The applicable NAICS Code is 236118, with a size standard of $33.5 Million. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. Responses to this notice should include the following: name and address of company/provider; business size; socio-economic category, if any; if services are on a Federal Supply Schedule; firm's experience in providing ADA-compliant home modifications that include the above-referenced line items which demonstrates firm's ability to meet the above requirement, in strict accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
