- Description
- Details for sources sought synposis. Details for sources sought synopsis. Details for sources sought synopsis. This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis and Request for Information. The purpose of this Sources Sought is to conduct market research to determine if responsible sources exist, to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or a total Small Business Set-Aside. The following information is provided to assist the Air Force in conducting market research of industry to identify sources of repair that meet Air Force requirements. This is neither a request for proposal nor an invitation for bid. There will be no reimbursement for the information provided. The PATS (Portable Automated Test System) group of the 516 SMXS/MXDED is building test systems for O-Level maintenance and repair. The O-Level environment can consist of using the PATS in exposed outside weather conditions. Because of the exposed outside weather conditions, all ancillary equipment are placed and stored in cases that meet MIL-STD-810F, ATA-300 (category 1), and FED-STD-101C standards. The cases also require touch labor to fit customized "shadowing" cutouts as specified in the case technical drawing package. For mobility, an external collapsible handle and outside corner rollers are required. All cases are required to have the same shape and footprint in the collapsible hand mechanism and corner rollers for better compatibility for stackable storage supposes. There will be 8 different case designs. The estimated quantities for 7 out of the 8 cases will be 54 each. The quantity of the final case is estimated to be 83. Attachments Environmental Case 1 Draft and Environmental Case 2 Draft are representative example drawings of typical cases. Any deviation from the final product drawing (as represented in Attachments Environmental Case 1 Draft and Environmental Case 2 Draft) is prohibited, in order to ensure compliance to customer requirements for environmental protection, internal case dimensional considerations as specified as per case technical drawings, Vortex release value and MTBF requirements. The PATS is a major O-level maintenance and repair program for the USAF. This activity will procure the assets necessary to repair and maintain current Electronic Environmental Systems, Weapon Systems and Avionics on various weapon platforms to ensure on-site mission readiness.
