Description

DARPA-BAA-12-61 ADAPTable Sensor Systems Phase 2, including Amendment 1 Under Amendment 1, DARPA-BAA-12-61 ADAPTable Sensor Systems Phase 2 is amended to state that DARPA is interested in an ancillary RF hardware module (SDR Daughtercard) that would facilitate experiments with a number of different waveforms and protocols such as femtocellular base stations, SRW and WNaN. The module should contain a microprocessor with a real-time operating system to support higher-level MAC functions, an FPGA to support lower level Physical and Link layer functions, and 4 RF transceivers. The RF transceivers should support variable bandwidth up to 40 MHz and be capable of tuning over the range from 70MHz to 6GHz (e.g., AD9361). Application specific RF functions (e.g., Power amplifiers, filters, and switching circuitry should be included in a separate solder-down module so that each application may have optimized RF performance. A minimum of 100k logic elements is needed to support the number and sophistication of waveform and a high performance processor (e.g., OMAP 3725) should be used.
