- The U.S. Army, Army Contracting Command (ACC) New Jersey Contracting Center, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, on behalf of U.S. Army, RDECOM-ARDEC, RDAR-MEE-W, Bldg 321, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey 07806-5000, is interested in receiving submissions from industry for the production of 2,4 DINITROANISOLE (DNAN) CAS No. 119-27-7. This office is conducting a market survey of industry to identify potential producers, located in North America, capable of manufacturing 2,4 Dinitroanisole, MIL-DTL-32354 (This Document is Distribution Statement D and its release is limited to US Department of Defense Contractors), minimum of 98 % purity. DNAN is an ingredient used in an energetic formulation by the U.S. Army. A respondent should currently possess a manufacturing capability to produce DNAN. A respondents available production capacity must be sufficient to provide the U.S. Army a total quantity of DNAN between 1.6 - 3 Million pounds per year. A follow up detailed questionnaire may be provided to survey respondents and on-site visits may be performed as a result of further analysis. Interested firms who feel they are capable of manufacturing 2,4 Dinitroanisole with a minimum purity of 98 % are invited to indicate their interest by providing to the U.S. Government a brief summary of their companys capabilities including a brief description of facilities, personnel, past production experience and environmental compliance pertaining to this particular area of procurement that would enhance the Governments consideration and evaluation of the information submitted. Firms that do not already possess MIL-DTL-32354 and require this document to respond to this notice shall present adequate information to verify its status as a US DOD contractor. All information is to be submitted via email at no cost or obligation to the Government; information provided will not be returned. Responses shall also indicate the size of the business entity; large or small. Please provide the name of your firm, address, POC, phone/fax number, and email address. TELEPHONE INQUIRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The Government will accept written questions by email. Interested firms/companies are encouraged to submit their capabilities/qualification data NO LATER THAN November 16, 2012. This is a Sources Sought/Market Survey Announcement and submissions will be used for informational and planning purposes only. This notice does not constitute a formal Request for Proposal (RFP)/Request for Quote (RFP), nor is the Government obligated to issue an RFP/RFQ. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey.
