ADVANCE NOTICE Date Posted on Internet: October 15, 2012 Solicitation Availability: On or about October 17, 2012 Pre-Bid Conference: Monday, October 29, 2012, 8:00 a.m. Bids Due: Wednesday, November 14, by 2:00 p.m. Soft Copy Price: $50.00 DBE Participation Goal: 4.6% Description of Work The scope of work includes, but is not limited to making modifications at six (6) WMATA Maintenance Facilities, including removing and replacing wheel truing machines at five (5) separate WMATA Maintenance Facilities (Greenbelt, Shady Grove, New Carrollton, Alexandria, and West Fall Church); transporting the wheel truing machine removed from new Carrollton facility to another facility in Landover, MD; providing credits for the salvage value of the removed wheel truing equipment; procuring and installing a new wheel press at the Brentwood Maintenance Facility; removing a vertical turret lathe (VTL) and preparing the facility for the installation by others of a new machine at the greenbelt Maintenance Facility; providing new wheel press at Brentwood facility; sampling, testing, evaluating, removing, and replacing soil that may be contaminated or deficient in soil load capacities; performing dewatering for demolition operations when necessary; and providing alternate pricing for extended warranty. Period of Performance : 770 Calendar Days from the issuance of Initial Notice to Proceed Contract Type : Firm Fixed price. A single contact will be awarded. Estimated Cost Range : $15,000,000 - $25,000,000 Pre -Bid Conference : Monday, October 29, 2012 8:00 a.m. Jackson Graham Building, Meeting Room, Lobby Level, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, 600 Fifth Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001. Site Visit will follow the pre-bid conference on October 29 th continue on October 31 st, 2012.
