Description

Class J&A for Lot 9, 10, and 11 AEACS The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intent to exercise an option on an existing contract with BAE Systems Aerospace & Defense Group Inc (BAE) for the acquisition of Armored Energy-Absorbing Crew Seats (AEACS) in support of Lot 9 UH-1Y Utility Helicopters (approximately 3 seats). This requirement will be procured in accordance with the statutory authority permitting other than Full and Open Competition under 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency's requirements. BAE is the sole designer, developer, and producer of the H-1 AEACS and is the only known source that possesses the engineering data, technical skills, and requisite knowledge of the design, fabrication, performance, operation, maintenance, and support characteristics necessary to provide the AEACS. This notice is for information purposes only. See numbered note 22.
