- Description
- The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Water Mission Area, Hydrologic Instrumentation Facility (HIF), Stennis Space Center, MS, intends to make a non-competitive award to Hach Company of Loveland, CO for the purchase of hydrologic instruments and equipment. The required instruments will play a key role in the operation of the USGS national stream gaging network. The resultant contract will be a follow-on to a previous contract for instruments that are required for the operation of the network that are highly specialized and must meet rigorous requirements for accuracy, operation in demanding field conditions and interoperability with existing network infrastructure. This equipment is essential to the effective operation of the stream gaging network and must be at the highest possible quality for accuracy. USGS hydrologic data is collected, maintained and interpreted by USGS State Water Science Centers throughout the United States and its territories. This will be a five year indefinite quantity, indefinite delivery contract. The NAICS code is 334513, Instruments and Related Products Manufacturing for Measuring, Displaying, and Controlling Industrial Process Variables, Size Standard 500 Employees. The Government intends to award this requirement non-competitively in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 and the procedures of FAR Part 12, entitled Acquisition of Commercial Items. Responsible sources may submit a capabilities statement which will be considered by the USGS, provided it is submitted by the closing date of this announcement. As required by FAR 5.102(a)(1), the forthcoming Solicitation (G13PS00008) will be made available through the GPE on or about October 31, 2012, whether or not competitive opportunities have been identified.
