Description
Request for Information The United States Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corps's Drum Corps International Public Awareness Package PURPOSE: The Request for Information (RFI) is to conduct market research for use in finding sources that can support the United States Marine Corps' Drum and Bugle Corps public awareness package. This RFI allows potential contractors to submit a non-binding statement of interest and documentation demonstrating their corporate capabilities and suggestions that will allow the Government to refine its potential course of action. The RFI effort is intended to assess industry service capabilities and solicit feedback for sources that can provide such services. BACKGROUND: A drum and bugle corps is a musical marching unit (similar to a marching band) consisting of brass and percussion instruments. Currently, there are approximately 200 civilian drum and bugle corps organizations in North America. Drum Corps International (DCI) is a non-profit youth organization serving civilian drum and bugle corps groups across the United States. The primary purpose of DCI is their competitive summer tour circuits, consisting of DCI-sanctioned competitions throughout the United States and Canada and culminating in August with the week-long DCI World Championships. Many of these summer tour competitions are broadcasted regionally on local Public Broadcasting Stations. The World Championships are televised nationally on ESPN2 each year. The contractor shall provide the appropriate personnel to provide service and support needed to assist with Drum Corps International's sanctioned events. CORE OBJECTIVES TO BE ACCOMPLISHED To create and increase the public's awareness and understanding of the United States Marine Drum Bugle Corps (DB) music program as well as the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and its missions, through Drum Corps International's sanctioned events. The Contractor shall provide the following: • Digital and print advertisement with DCI promotion materials • Announcements and D&B banner displayed at DCI sanctioned events • On-site exposure via a public relations booth in spectator areas at events • Tickets and passes to DCI competitions • Stage/Changing area for D&B members at events where the D&B performs INSTRUCTIONS: Responses to this RFI shall not exceed ten (10) pages, including cover letter, discussion and contact information. Subject response must contain: (1) Capability statement sufficient to demonstrate performance acumen directly related to the objectives stated; (2) Two customer references describing similar work efforts; and (4) Other material relevant to establishing the core competencies of the firm. Please identify Large/Small Business size and CAGE Code. Response is due by Friday 12 October 2012, 3:00 PM EST. Please submit e-mail responses to GySgt. Venson Wilkins, Contract Specialist, at: venson.wilkins@usmc.mil and venson.m.wilkins@us.army.mil. NOTES: Issuance of this notice does not constitute any obligation whatsoever on the part of the Government to procure these services or to issue a solicitation. The Marine Corps is neither seeking proposals nor accepting unsolicited proposals, and responses to this notice cannot be accepted as offers. Any information the vendor considers proprietary should be clearly marked as such. The U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI. See FAR 52.215-3, Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes.
