Description
SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. This request is an announcement for information/market research for planning purposes. The synopsis does not constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, invitation for bid nor does its issuance in any way restrict the Government as to its ultimate acquisition approach. The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center/Operational Contracting Division is seeking expressions of interest having the capability to provide a high-sensitivity optical imager. The necessary requirements for the optical imager are as follows: • 1" or larger scientific grade-1-back-illuminted bare CCD detector with 2000x2000 or more pixels with 16 bit digitalization. Peak quantum efficiency of 95% or better, with QE above 50% over the range of 400-700 nm and thermoelectric cooling to -70C or better • Telecentric optics providing an effective f/ # at the detector of 1.0 or less and narrow-band (2nm or less) filtering on the front end • Front end optics compatible with 4" diameter narrow-band filters with 2 nm bandwidth • Automated computer-controlled filter wheel capable of holding 8, 4"-diameter filters • Automated integrated imager and filter wheel control software allowing pre-programmed automated operation and remote network access • Front end optics providing the following fields of view: 15, 30, 60, 90, and 180 degrees • 2 nm passband 4" filters appropriate for observing emissions at the following wavelengths: 427.8, 557.7, 630.0, and 777.4 nm The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 333314, Optical Instruments and Lens Manufacturing and the size standard for small business is 500 employees. The Federal Stock Class (FSC) is 6650, Optical Instruments. Firms responding to this announcement shall be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) website and should include company name, cage code, point of contact, address and indicate whether the optical imager can be provided under a Federal Supply Schedule. Please specify the manufacturer of the optical imager you are able to provide. Also indicate business size: large business, small business, 8(a) concern, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, women-owned small business. The Government reserves the right to consider the acquisition for the 8(a) program based upon responses received to this sources sought announcement.
