Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. The National Weather Service (NWS) is conducting market research for the replacement of Compressor Dehydrators in its 175 NEXRAD Weather Surveillance Radars (WSR-88D). The WSR-88D uses two versions of compressor dehydrator. The single output unit provides continuous waveguide pressure at 3 psig and RH of less than 2%. The second unit provides dual output maintaining 3 psig and 25 psig; with a RH of less than 2% at both outputs. Replacement unit(s) should be capable of operating 24/7 year round with minimal maintenance; if a desiccant material is used, it should be field serviceable. The unit(s) should provide alarms for low pressure and high humidity. Power requirements for the units are single phase 115 VAC at 60 Hz. RESPONSES: Responses to this RFI must include the device manufacturer, a product description with performance parameters, and a statement regarding current availability (NDI, prototype, in production, fully developed but not in production). Responses should also include a cost estimate and delivery timeline for the product. This RFI does not constitute an invitation for bids, request for proposal, or request for quote and there is no related solicitation posted. Accordingly, respondents will not be reimbursed for any expenses incurred in providing a response. Any questions regarding this RFI should be addressed in writing to the NWS Project Engineer, Mr. Glenn Secrest ( glenn.s.secrest@noaa.gov ), with Contracting Officer Chad Hepp ( Chad.M.Hepp@noaa.gov ) copied on the email. Responses should be sent to the attention of Chad Hepp, Contracting Officer, via email to Chad.M.Hepp@noaa.gov.
