- The United States Patent & Trademark Office intends to issue a sole source award to SirsiDynix DBA Sirsi Corporation for software maintenance. The Horizaon software is utilized by the Scientific and Technical Information Center for its online catalog. The system is used to enter catalog records, perform inventory, and circulation of materials to Patent Examiners. The system has been in use for at least 13 years and continues to be the most advantageous method of filling the requirement, considering the costs of replacing the system, training the staff, and testing new software.
