- Description
- This requirement is to renovate/repair building 35. As the keystone of the new Resiliency Campus on Fort Benning the project to renovate Building 35 will consolidate departments currently located throughout Fort Benning. Some of these functions are currently housed in 1940's barracks on the west side of Fort Benning. Due to the historical significance of the building certain constraints have been incorporated into this renovation project as follows: 1. Existing terra cotta walls are to remain and have been incorporated into the design. 2. Existing corridor doors, frames and door hardware have been reused. 3. Existing monumental stairs, handrails, guard rails and marble steps will remain. 4. Existing exterior envelope including walls, windows, roof and doors will remain untouched. 5. Existing resilient tile flooring in the corridor will remain.
