- J-Files Solicitation SOLICITATION N40442-12-R-1022 IS ATTACHED. INTERESTED PARTIES SHALL REQUEST A COPY OF THE WORK PACKAGE AND DRAWINGS TO VALERIE TAYLOR VIA EMAIL (valerie.taylor@navy.mil). SOLICITATION CLOSES ON 25 OCTOBER 2012 @ 2:00PM LOCAL TIME. THIS IS A SYNOPSIS NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation or request for quote or proposal and no contract or purchase order will be awarded from this notice. There is no solicitation, specifications or drawings available at this time. Military Sealift Command Norfolk is anticipating issuing a 100% Small Business Set-aside solicitation on/about 27 September 2012 for the Mid-Term Availability of the USNS GRUMMAN (T-AO 195) comencing on/about 19 February 2013 for thirty (30) calendar days. The USNS GRUMMAN has a length of 677.5 feet, beam of 97.5 feet and a draft of 35 feet. Work is to be performed at a contractor's facility on or about the above mentioned dates. Area of consideration is the East and Gulf Coasts. After issuance, solicitation will be made available on the Federal Business Opportunities website https://www.fbo.gov. The appropriate NAICS Code is 336611. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. Major work items associated with this availability include: Annual Fire Fighting Inspection/Certification; Annual Lifeboat and Rescue Boat and Davit Inspection; Immersion Suit Testing; Port Main Engine/Cylinder Overhaul and Starboard Reduction Gear Heater Replacement.
