Description
The government intends to issue a modification to extend services for 4 months under contract N62645-12-C-4017 with Beaufort Radiology Associates, P.A. for Radiologist services in support of Naval Hospital Beaufort, SC. It was anticipated that the bridge contract would allow sufficient time for completion of the remaining required acquisition processes. However, upon receipt of proposals for the competitive acquisition, there were unanticipated delays in completing the past performance evaluation. Due to increasing workload demands including the processing of requirements under the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery's new Medical Home Port Initiative and processing requirements for the recently awarded Carolina Bridge Multiple Award Task Order Contracts, in additional to current workloads, a completed past performance evaluation report was not received in the timeframe anticipated. Additionally, as a result of the recently issued Department of Defense Source Selection Procedures, the time associated with conducting the source selection process has been extended. The aforementioned delays do not allow for sufficient time for the Government to complete that process, subsequently prepare the required documentation to support a contract award, and reasonably expect there would be enough time for a contractor to be able to recruit for and fill the positions 1 October 2012. In order to avoid a lapse in service and maintain current staffing levels, a modification will be issued to extend the current services through 31 January 2013. The new anticipated start date for the long term requirement is 01 February 2013.
