Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 9, Nashville, TN VA Medical Center intends to award on a sole source basis (IAW FAR 6.302-1) to Devicor Medical Products Incorporated (dba) Mammatone, 300 E. Business Way, 5th Floor, Cincinnati, OH 45241, 606-371-4243 as the only responsible source that can provide the Neo2000 Gamma Detection System (GDS) for gamma-guided surgical procedures such as lymphatic mapping and parathyroidectomy. The following are the essential characteristics of the Neo2000 Gamma Detection System (GDS): 1.Gamma Detection System console with Bluetooth wireless technology, detecting presence of gamma rays emitted from radioactive isotopes in body organs or tissue. 2.System provides an increasing or decreasing sound and visual indicator (Count Bar) that vary in pitch as level of gamma radioactivity increases or decreases. 3.Electronic medical device for detecting and quantifying gamma radiation. 4.Indications used externally and intra-operatively to detect radioactive emissions from body tissues or organs where radiopharmaceuticals are administered. 5.Detecting gamma radiation with a hand-held probe based on inverse square law of physics which allows detection of radiation emitted from a small source. 6.Must be compatible with existing systems presently installed and in use. Based on the above information, the only technically acceptable gamma detection system is the Neo2000 Gamma Detection System (GDS). This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures. The following set-aside restrictions are applied: Small Business. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAISC) 423450 with a Small Business Size Standard of 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical date, including price, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product. All capability statements received by the closing date of this publication of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Capability statements shall be submitted by email only as a MS Word, Excel or Adobe PDF attachment to Debra Walker-Sykes at debra.walker-sykes@va.gov.
