- Description
- Request For Information The United States Coast Guard is interested in identifying the HU-25 Falcon Jet items and parts that would be of public interest and prioritize toward bringing higher interest items forward for the public General Services Administration (GSA) auction process. The U.S. Coast Guard has been operating as many as 41 HU-25 Falcons since 1982. The HU-25 aircraft were manufactured by Dassault Falcon Jet and are considered a military modified Falcon 20G model aircraft. The HU-25 design was concurrent with development of the Falcon 200 series aircraft. Many of the parts on the HU-25 are interchangeable with Falcon 20 series and Falcon 200 series aircraft. The HU-25 turbo fan engines are Honeywell (formerly Garrett) ATF3-6 certificated for the Falcon 20G that transitioned to the HU-25. A slightly different version of the ATF3-6 is also found on Falcon 200 series aircraft. Over the past 15 years aircraft have been decommissioned and the HU-25 program is slated to shutdown in the next 2 years with remaining aircraft being decommissioned; parts removed from stock and disposed of according to U.S. Government regulations utilizing the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO) and GSA auction processes for excess property. The US Coast Guard Aviation Logistics center located in Elizabeth City, NC is the central inventory control point for HU-25 support items and spare parts owned and maintained by the US Coast Guard. Spare equipment is in varied condition and consists of a variety from new parts, repaired parts, parts awaiting repair and unserviceable spares for use as spare parts. Documentation/Traceability: New parts from the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM): Note: Some items were purchased prior to newer FAA requirements in the early program stages and may not include certificate of conformance or acceptable paperwork to be used in certificated general aviation aircraft. Serviceable Components repaired or overhauled by FAA Certified Repair Stations that are in serviceable and ready for issue condition will contain all necessary FAA 8130 and Certificate of Conformance (COC) paperwork. The U.S. Coast Guard utilizes an Aviation Computerized Management System (ACMS) which allows historical tracking reports for a majority of the equipment owned by the Coast Guard. The history begins from purchase and enrollment into the system to current state of condition or may terminate tracking at unserviceable scrap disposal. This documentation may be provided if current and available. Serviceable spares repaired or overhauled by the Military spares will normally have ACMS history and all parts used meet either MILSPEC or FAA-PMA. These parts may have some value but due to lack of FAA approval to repair or overhaul. These items may not be suitable for use in certificated general aviation aircraft. The disposition process will begin as soon as October 1, 2012 and will continue through the program end in September 30, 2014. The U.S. Coast Guard is interested in identifying the items and parts that would be of public interest and prioritize toward bringing higher interest items forward for public GSA auction process. This request for information may provided a cost savings to the government by focusing efforts on desired items, recovering funds on these items for other programs and assisting Coast Guard ALC personnel with streamlining decisions for the routing of equipment for its final disposition. A request for the list of items and inquiries for specific items can be directed to Mr. Dorsey Johr, Dorsey.H.Johr@uscg.mil. This solicitation is public notice. An inquiry into these items does not make any guarantee of acquisition or imply any endorsement or preferential advantage toward any one vendor. All excess items of public interest solicited from this request for information will be reviewed and considered for accelerated disposition through GSA Auction.
