- DESCRIPTION: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a Sources Sought Announcement for the procurement of 170 LED light fixtures that will be used in conjunctions with a Constant Current power distribution system with Auto-sensing voltage (120-277V) that is located along the Cape Cod Canal, 40 Academy Drive, Buzzards Bay, MA 02532 to determine the interest, availability, and capability of Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, HUBZone, and Small Business concerns as described below. The NAICS code for this procurement is 335122. The estimated procurement cost is between $100,000.00 and $500,000.00. The project is planned to be issued on or about 15 October 2012 and the contract performance/delivery period is 6 weeks. Cape Cod Canal is a 17 mile long sea level canal located in coastal Massachusetts. The delivered light fixtures will installed by the government at approximately 170 locations along the 10-foot-wide service roads which parallel the Cape Cod Canal. The following information is provided: 1.Be used in a marine environment to illuminate access roads that parallel a sea-level canal. 2.Lamp fixtures will be mounted approximately 28-32 feet in the air. 3.Lamps to be used for 2 purposes: a.Security lighting along two 10 foot-wide paved access roads, and b.Serve as a navigational aid along both banks of a 640 foot-wide navigation channel used by commercial vessels and recreational boaters. 4.Lamps should provide the visual appearance of amber and white coloring to aid in navigation. 5.All components shall be UL approved. 6.A full sheet of product specifications must be submitted. Warranty information must be included. 7.The LED lamps must be commercially available. Prototypes will not be considered. 8.Lamps must be capable of functioning in a Massachusetts coastal environment that frequently sees sub-freezing temperatures and occasional gale force winds Interested firms should submit a capabilities package to include the following: business classification (i.e. HUBZone, etc.) and provide a cut sheet of the item as noted in the project description stated above. Responses are due October 1, 2012. Responses should be addressed to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, 696 Virginia Road, Concord, MA 01742-2751, ATTN: Kimberly B. Pumyea. Responses are limited to twenty pages. Firms interested shall provide the above documentation in one original form and one copy. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this market survey nor return the data provided. This notice is for information purposes only and is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. The results of this survey will be considered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of this notice.
