Description
Announcement of Contract Action, intent to award sole source contract. This is not a solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 1 (NCO 1 New England) 90C/650/241 intends to award a purchase order for the de-installation, re-installation and quality assurance testing revalidation of sensitive laboratory instruments to: Sequenom, 3495 John Hopkins Court, San Diego, CA 92121-1121, DUNS# 960004026. The equipment/services are described as follows: the contractor shall perform de-installation, re-installation, testing and validation of the VA Providence research Mass Spectrometer System manufactured and acquired from the contractor, Sequenom, Inc. The following scientific equipment purchased (2009) from Sequenom, Inc under purchase order 650D90038, shall be de-installed, tested and validated: Mass Array Spectrometer: Equipment tag #50808, 51037, 51038. This instrument measures the mass to charge ratio of each reaction, which then generates human genotypic data. Mass Array Liquid Handler: Equipment tag #50809, 51034, 51033. This robotic liquid dispensing instrument is used in the Sequenom analyses process. This instrument expedites the entire process by dispensing the necessary mixtures of reagents to 384-well plates. Mass Array Nanodispenser: Equipment tag #50807, 51035, 51036. This automated dispenser is responsible for transferring reactions from a 384-well plate onto a chip specifically designed for the Sequenom Mass Spectrometer. For consistency of laboratory results and for validating the system prior to taking the system back on-line, the manufacturers technician's have the exclusive expertise. The contractor shall test and revalidate the systems prior to VA Providence re-commissioning the system. The contractor has the burden of revalidating the system and restoring it to a state and configuration for carrying out VA research activities. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will satisfy Agency Requirements. This notice contains information current through FAC 2005-60. The NAICS is 541380. The FSC/PSC is H965. No solicitation will be posted to this site.
