- THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT AND NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Beckman Coulter, Inc., Brea, CA 92821 pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This purchase is for a B22867 Biomek 4000 Basic Liquid Handling System. The basis system includes software, controller, monitor, mouse, P200L single channel Pipette Tool, MP200 Eight channel Pipette Tool, autoframing tool, tip rack holder, labware holder, starter kit, and on-site training, application support and complete installation. The following components are also being ordered: B22364 Enclosure field install kit; 987367 P20 Tool, A91577 Biomek P1000SL Single-Tip Pipette tool; A65893 Applications Advance Training; 987263 Accy Right Side Module, 987264 Accy Left Side Module, and A21578 P50 Tips (10 packages). This equipment is to replace/upgrade existing Biomek 2000. The system must be compatible with existing labware applications, hardware, software, existing lab supplies, and the liquid handling robot currently being utilized in the laboratory. The new system will also provide a safety upgrade as it encloses all of the components which is designed to protect the operator. The system must also provide compatibility for existing experimental protocols developed over the past nine years. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities / specifications to the Contracting Specialist at the address provided. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 6 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 6 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, the order will be issued to Beckman Coulter. The NAICS Code/Size is 334516/500 Employees. This procurement is to be processed using FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12 Commercial Item Acquisition of Commercial Items. There is no solicitation package available. Note: This request is subject to available of funds.
