- Description
- The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA), Fort Detrick, MD intends to issue a sole source award utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures to Fisher Scientific Company LLC. The award is for Bio-Tek's Synergy Mx plate reader. It includes a microplate reader for multi-detection methods and is composed of various modules: Microplate and cuvet based UV-Visible Absorbance, Top and Bottom monochrometer based fluorescence intensity, luminescence detection and Gen 5 software. The purchase includes customer training, installation, and a field warranty at no extra charge. The Synergy Mx plate reader is a one of a kind piece of equipment on the market that offers optimum sensitivity in all three detection methods: luminescence, absorbance, fluorescence assays. In addition to providing the highest sensitivity in detection, the MX reader is monochrometer based, and not filter based as most plate readers on the market. Lastly, the Mx is a modular type plate reader, which allows other key features to be "added-on" in the future if needed. Efforts were made to obtain competition, however no other vendor, other than Fisher Bio-Tek can be identified that offer a plate reader that has such a high sensitive detection methods, vast range in wavelength usage, and the ability to upgrade to high throughput technologies. This notice of intent is for information purposes only, therefore, no solicitation will result from this announcement. All sources eligible to provide this service must respond in writing. Responses must be supported with clear and convincing evidence to clearly be able to provide services outlined above. A request for documentation will not be considered as an affirmative response. If no responses are received, within 15 days after publication of this notice, to the effect that comparable services are available, and that it is more advantageous to the Government than obtaining these services through a sole-source contract, then a sole source acquisition award will be made. Response to this award is to be sent to jennifer.e.hayden@us.army.mil.
