- Description
- Arcata Associates, Inc. has a requirement for two (2) each Apogee Labs - 2416 MUX9-1 2 channel MUX input (RS422), two (2) each Apogee Labs - 2417 DEMUX9-1 2 channel DEMUX output (RS422) and two (2) each Apogee Labs - 2319 ETHIO5 10/100/1000 - dual channel ethernet module. Arcata Associates, Inc. intends to purchase the items from Apogee Labs, Inc., 210 South Third Street, North Wales, PA 19454. Apogee Labs is an established source with NASA/Dryden. The equipment that is currently being utilized has been manufactured, maintained and upgraded by Apogee Labs. a). The Apogee Labs 2319 ETHIO5 10/100/1000 Dual Channel Ethernet Module, 2416 MUX9-1 2 Channel Mux Input and 2417 DEMUX9-1 2 Channel Demux Output is desired for its compatibility into our current chassis (connectors) and electrical performance characteristics. No other vendor is known to produce this exact P/N as it is proprietary to Apogee Labs. b). Apogee Labs has demonstrated its ability to meet these requirements effectively and within budgetary constraints set aside by NASA DFRC WATR for this procurement. Procurement of another manufacturer's equipment would significantly increase the cost due to other manufacturers equipment not being compatible with our current hardware chassis and electrical performance requirements. c). Mission impact risk will be significantly reduced due to Apogee's ability to meet our requirement with this part number and deliver in reasonable lead time. Other manufacturers do not have this exact part and would require long lead time due to engineering, development, production and delivery delays. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 2:30 p.m. local time on 9/10/12. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
