- Description
- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for a customized miniaturized CMOS Camera Head in support of the Phase 2 Robotic Refueling Mission (RRM). Qty 18 - CMOS camera integrated with illumination unit- up to 9.5mm outer diameter and 19m length Qty 1 - Video Processor Unit - HDMI output Qty 1 - Documentation - Interface control document for the CMOS camera integrated with illumination unit Mechanical drawing of camera unit dimensions, parts list of camera unit, all as PDF files, including 10 hours of remote engineering support Shipping charges Phase 2 of the Robotic Refueling Mission (RRM) is interested in procuring a quantity of 15 to 20 miniaturized videoscope camera head units. These camera head units are similar to those found at the end of articulating commercial videoscopes. RRM is in need of a customized camera head unit that contains both a miniaturized camera and integrated LED lighting. The maximum outer diameter of the camera head housing (that contains the camera, LED, etc) must be no larger than 9.5 mm in diameter. The overall length of the camera head housing may be no more than 19 mm in length. Although there is no requirement for the LED lighting, the camera head must be capable of providing enough illumination to achieve usable camera images in no light situations. The wire bundle emanating from the camera head shall contain all of the wiring for the camera and LED lighting. The wire bundle's maximum diameter must be no more than 3 mm in diameter. The wire harness shall be of length of at least 1220 mm. The wire bundle must be able to achieve a minimum bend radius of 13 mm over 1000 cycles. The end of the wire harness shall terminate with a connector of the manufacturer's choosing. This connector must connect to a 'Video Processor Unit (VPU)' that will take the camera video and provide an NTSC out formatted image. This VPU must also control the on/off functionality of the LED lighting. A quantity of only 1 to 2 units is required for the Video Processor Unit. The miniaturized camera head must be capable of imaging over a field of view of 90 degrees and with a maximum near depth of field of 5 mm and a minimum far depth of field of 70 mm. The maximum power requirements for both the camera & LED lighting is 0.5 amps at 15 Volts. In addition to the camera head and VPU hardware described above, the manufacturer must also provide NASA GSFC with a detailed electrical Interface Control Document (ICD) that details the format of the signal outputted from the camera head. This information is required so that NASA GSFC may develop it's own ruggedized and compact VPU to control this camera head. Additionally, the manufacturer will be required to provide a mechanical ICD detailing the dimensions and interior structure of the camera head unit. Finally, a detailed parts list is required that shall include every individual component that comprises the camera head tip and harnessing. This list shall include the original equipment manufacturer of each part, part number and traceability lot. Further details of the camera head unit, harnessing and Video Processing Unit can be found in the attached Statement of Work. NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Medigus, Ltd. The delivery date is 6 to 8 weeks ARO. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 3:00 p.m. local time on September 7, 2012. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. [OMBUDSMAN STATEMENT IS REQUIRED] NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable. The Center Ombudsman for this acquisition can be found at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/pub/pub_library/Omb.html.
