- Amd #2 Elevator Layout Amd #2 - Floor Layout OVERVIEW: The purpose of this amendment, Amendment No. 002 is to amend the solicitation in order to respond to questions received. See below. Question No. 001:"Installation" costs are dependent on installation accessibility. Please provide a description of access to the building and access to the installation area from the point of building entry including distance, changes in elevation, weight capacity of floor, and minimum width plus height of the route path. Response No. 001: See the attached documents entitled, "Floor Layout" and "Elevator Layout" for further details. Access to the building is achieved through the loading dock as per Section 9.2 of the Statement of Need. The location for installation of the new nickel shredder can be accessed via the loading dock, which has direct access to a service elevator. This service elevator takes one directly to the location for installation. Question No. 002:"Will the shredder be installed in a "9' x 11'" room or is this an open area? Also, what is the clearance height of the 9' x 11' installation area? Response No. 002: See the attached document entitled, "Floor Layout" to this amendment for details on the location where the new nickel shredder is to be installed. Question No. 003: Does BEP desire to have the shredded product discharge into carts? If so, what is the size of the carts? If not, please further describe the "collection system" that is envisioned? Response No. 003: Section 4.1.7 of the Statement of work requires that the new nickel shredder "have a collection system with easy access to remove shredded nickel strips". As a result, Offerors are to propose their solution to meeting this requirement. Offerors are able to propose multiple solutions. As shown at the site visit, BEP currently uses a forklift to pick up a box placed on a pallet that is placed under the shredder. Question No. 004: Will there be a roll up door access and either truck ramp or loading bay access to the room that will house the shredder? Response No. 004: The location for the nickel shredder is BEP's ECF's sub-basement, which is accessed via a service elevator, which can be accessed via the loading dock. See the attached documents entitled, "Floor Layout" and "Elevator Layout" for further details. Question No. 005: Are there any photos of this room? Response No. 005: Photos are not allowed. However, see the attached document entitled, "Floor Layout" for details on the location where the new nickel shredder is to be installed. Question No. 006: What is the ceiling height in this room? Response No. 006: See the attached document entitled, "Floor Layout". Question No. 007: Is there access for a forklift in both the parking lot and shredder room for unloading and placing the equipment? Response No. 007: See the attached documents entitled, "Floor Layout" and "Elevator Layout" for further details. Question No. 008: Is there a room drawing available? Response No. 008: Yes, see the attached document entitled, "Floor Layout". Question No. 009: We will pre-wire the shredder system to the electrical panel mounted on the shredder stand. Our electrical panel has a separate main power disconnect supplied. Will you supply the electrician for the connection of your the 60 Amp, 3 ph, 60Hz feed power for the shredder panel? Response No. 009: See Sections 4.1.6 and 8.0 of the Statement of Need for details on power requirements and government responsibilities. Offeror's are encouraged to include within their response any exceptions to the terms and conditions. Exceptions to solicitation terms and conditions, if applicable: The completion and submission of the items listed in herein will constitute an offer (proposal) and will indicate the Offeror's unconditional assent to the terms and conditions in the solicitation and in any attachments hereto. If an Offeror takes exception to any of the terms and conditions of the solicitation the Offeror must clearly state in this Part of their proposal any exceptions taken. Omission of such a statement will be construed as the Offeror's acceptance of all solicitation terms and conditions. Altogether, if an Offeror takes exception to any of the terms and conditions of the solicitation they must do the following; (i) provide a statement within the designated subsection of Part II that states the Offeror does take exception to the terms and conditions of the solicitation; (ii) identify the term or condition of the solicitation for which they take exception to; (iii) state the reason(s) for the exception; (iv) an explanation of any benefits to the Government; and (v) provide any other information concerning the exception(s).
