- Notice of Contract Action (NOCA), notice of intent to award sole source contract. This is not a solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 1 (NCO 1 New England) 90C/650/241 intends to negotiate and award a contract for expert professional services with respect to scale development, data analytic strategies, and interpretation of statistical findings for VA funded studies. The proposed awarded is contractor Daniel King and Lynda King, Beverly, MA 01915 (DUNS: 791215689). The contractor is a Center for Veterans Enterprise (CVE) certified SDVOSB (Jan. 17, 2012). The equipment/services are described as follows: expert professional services on 1) research design and data analysis issues unique to trauma research, including expertise in multivariate analyses, structural equation modeling, and longitudinal data analysis, and in 2) statistical software programs used to compile, score, and analyze data collected, specifically Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The contractor shall provide statistical and psychometric consulting services to researchers at the National Center for PTSD, BSD and WHSD. Specific projects include: a."Validation of Modified DRRI Scales in a National Sample of OEF/OIF Veterans." The aim of this work is to provide expert statistical and psychometric consulting for a VA-funded project that involves updating and validating a widely used suite of scales to assess deployment-related psychosocial risk and resilience factors associated with post-deployment mental health. b."Stress, Health and Aging Research Program (SHARP). "The goal of this research project is to examine risk and resilience factors among aging Vietnam veterans. Topics of interest include: 1) Determining the degree to which PTSD mediates effects of trauma exposure on health over the lifespan, 2) Determining if PTSD treatment alters the impact of PTSD on health in later life, and 3) Examining the nature of late-onset stress symptomatology (LOSS) and its effects on health. c. Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Training - Mentor 4 National Institute of Health T32 postdoctoral fellows concerning all aspects of the research process with specific emphasis on quantitative methods, especially with regard to longitudinal models.d. Other projects may include: Work and Family Functioning in Women Veterans Project, Stigma and Mental Health Care Use Project, PTSD Registry Project, Group CBT for Chronic PTSD: RCT with Veterans, and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Training. The authority for this action is 41 USC §253(c)(5), as implemented by FAR 6.302-5, Authorized or required by statute, 38 USC §8128 (PL 109-461, 120 Stat. 3403, December 22, 2006) This notice contains information current through FAC 2005-60.
