- *The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice posted 24 AUGUST 2012 is to invite submittal of white papers on Operational Energy. *RELATIONSHIP TO PRIOR NOTICE. An FBO Sources Sought Notice was posted 18 July 2012 to solicit white papers for participation in the Army's Network Integration Evaluation (NIE) 13.2, the deadline for those white papers closed 10 August 2012. Today's Sources Sought Notice, posted 24 August 2012, is independent from the prior posting; today's Notice includes two new white paper topics not covered by the prior 18 July Notice. White papers submitted in response to this 24 August notice will also be considered for inclusion in the NIE 13.2 exercise; the deadline for white paper submittal is 1:00pm (Eastern) 14 September 2012, details below. * THE BELOW DESCRIPTION PROVIDES AN INTRODUCTION ONLY, REFER TO THE TWO ATTACHMENTS FOR THE FULL ANNOUNCEMENT. Network Integration Evaluation (NIE) Sources Sought - Operational Energy This is a request for candidates for the 13.2 May 2013 NIE. 1.DESCRIPTION 1.1The US Army Directorate for System of Systems Integration (hereinafter referred to as SoSI) is seeking interested sources with mature solutions to enhance existing network systems capabilities to participate in a Network Integration Evaluation (NIE) event scheduled to occur in May 2013 (referred to as NIE 13.2) at Ft. Bliss, TX and the adjacent White Sands Missile Range (WSMR). The purpose of this notice is to identify emerging capabilities to be evaluated against a set of entrance criteria for an opportunity to participate in an NIE. This Sources Sought seeks solutions with a narrow focus on Specific Identified Gaps in the current and evolving networked equipment solution set. Functional requirements for these gaps are listed in Paragraph 2. These gaps are: 1.1.1Operational Energy Consumption Reduction 1.1.2Operational Energy Utilization Efficiency The NIE is an Army hosted event conducted twice a year. The NIE is approximately two to six weeks long and employs the full brigade strength of a Brigade Combat Team (BCT) at Fort Bliss, TX. The goal is to conduct....
