The specifications are as follows: ** Partitions a 20 ?l PCR sample into 20,000 nanoliter-sized droplets. ** Droplet generator is compatible with a DG8? cartridge, which holds a total of eight samples. ** Droplet generation takes 2.5 min. ** Droplet generation requires 70 microliter of a droplet generator oil. ** System can accurately count target copies with multiple copies of a target distributed in a droplet. ** Each droplet is 1 nl and has a diameter of 125 ?m. ** Droplet generator is 28 x 36 x 13 cm (11 x 14 x 5") (W x D x H). ** Droplets are PCR amplified in bulk on a thermal cycler. ** Droplet reader analyzes 32 samples/hr. ** Droplet reader processes 1,000 droplets/sec. ** Droplet reader allows excitation and detection of up to two fluorescent dyes per droplet. FAM and VIC (or a VIC alternative, such as HEX) dyes can be used. ** Droplet reader illuminates and detects fluorescence from each individual droplet. The system uses two light-emitting diodes for illumination and differentially detects emission using two filtered photomultiplier tubes (one for each channel). ** Droplet reader automatically detects fluorescence from both channels during read process. ** Droplet reader is 66 x 52 x 29 cm (26 x 20 x 11") (W x D x H). ** System has a linear dynamic range of five orders of magnitude for detection of input samples. ** System can detect one copy of target sequence from DNA samples. ** System enables the distinction between four and five copies of input target nucleic acid between samples. ** Precision of ?10% can be achieved. ** One 96-well plate can be used to analyze 1.4 million droplets. |||Software specifications:||| ** Displays fluorescence measurement per droplet in both FAM and VIC channels. ** Shows multiplex data for up to two fluorophores per droplet. ** Includes concentration analysis for each sample. ** Includes copy number variation analysis. ** User can manually set threshold for entire sample plate or for individual samples. ** Software can merge results from replicate wells. ** Fraction of negatives for each sample is fit to a Poisson algorithm to determine absolute copy number of target DNA. ** Allows data graphs and tables to be exported into Microsoft Excel or printed from software menus. From market research we have found only one instrument that meets all qualifications, the QX100? Droplet Digital? PCR System from Bio-Rad. CDC is interested in receiving bids the QX100 Droplet Digital PCR System or another laboratory instrument that will perform all the same functions., 1, EA; LI 002, Shipping costs.
