Description
This is a notice of intent to sole source. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); 2920 Brandywine Road, Atlanta, GA 30341; in accordance with FAR Part 13.106(b) and 41 USC 253 (c) (1) intents to solicit a single source for the Procurement of a QX100 Droplet Digital PCR System & Droplet Generator. The CDC's intent is to sole source the following requirement to Government Scientific Source, Inc. The North American Industry Classification System code is 423490, 100 people. The purpose of this procurement is to purchase a QX100 Droplet Digital PCR System & Droplet Generator. This particular item is unique as it is the only machine of its type that can provide the measurement of target DNA molecules with the precision, accuracy, and sensitivity required. Additionally this item is able to perform the following: Partition a 20ul sample into 20,000 nanaoliter-sized droplets, Accurately count target copies with multiple copies of a target distributed in a droplet, Detect one copy of target sequence from DNA samples, Achieve precision of +/- 10%, One 96 well plate can be used to analyze 1.4 million droplets, Compatible with TaqMan probe chemistry we currently use in our lab and Droplet reader illuminates and detects up to two different fluorescent dyes per droplet. and can only be purchased from one source. This item will be an exact replacement for an item already in use. Additionally, the system uses two light emitting diodes and differentially detects emission using two filtered photomultiplier tubes. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contract Specialist on or before 8:00 am EST on August 23, 2012. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. All questions must be in writing and must be emailed to Candice L. Simmons at iie3@cdc.gov. Please reference CDC-48722 on all correspondence. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the CDC will proceed to sole source this requirement to the Government Scientific Source, Inc.
