- PURCHASE REQUEST FOR COURTESY FLOATS AND GANGWAYS LILLYDALE, DALE HOLLOW PROJECT 1. Scope of Work The Contractor shall furnish, deliver, and install two (2) courtesy floats and two (2) gangways to the Lillydale Recreation Area, 985 Lillydale Road, Allons, TN 38541. 2. Courtesy Floats and Gangways Specifications: Each gangway shall 80 feet in length, four feet wide inner diameter, with aluminum guardrails to include a top rail and an intermediate rail. The top rail will be between 36"- 42" from the walking surface. The guardrails shall be designed for a 250# concentrated load applied from any direction at any point. The walking surface will be constructed of aluminum runners with a slip resistant surface. The walkways shall be designed with a minimum live load of 50 pounds per square foot. The aluminum shall be of marine grade. The walkway structure shall consist of aluminum members connected by welding rather than bolted sections. The walkway will be designed to withstand loading from wind and drift that may accumulate around the structure. The mounting monolith shall be provided with apparatus to accommodate the gangway. The gangway shoreline mount shall be centered with two "ears" and spacing. Ear # 1 shall be 1.5" wide, 42" space then ear # 2 also 1.5" wide. The opposite end shall have the reverse attachment method of a centered " ear, 2" ID space, " ear, 41.5" space " ear, 2" ID space, " ear. All ears shall have a 1" hole center bored. Floatation devices shall be placed to each side of the gangway to stabilize the sway and shall be of adequate size to remove all vertical weight from the courtesy float. Each courtesy float shall measure 12'x 30' and shall be constructed of all aluminum material. The deck joists shall be constructed of 8" marine grade aluminum C-channel placed on two foot centers. These members shall be connected by factory welds with bracing at all corners. The decking shall be all interlocking aluminum runners with a slip resistant surface. These deck panels shall be attached with self tapping screws furnished by the manufacturer. The hinge on the float shall be compatible with the existing walkway. The flotation shall meet all applicable requirements for use on Corps of Engineers lakes. The floats shall be constructed to match or be similar in design to the attached gangways and provide 8 cleats per float. The edges of each float shall have a border along the top edge constructed of rubber as to protect boats that tie to the structure. The scope of work is to provide all necessary components and to install the new courtesy float to the new gangway at each location. The Contractor shall deliver products in the following quantities and dimensions: 80' Aluminum Gangway 2 EACH 12'x30' Courtesy Floats 2 EACH Assembly & Installation 2 EACH 3. Reference Publications: The gangways and courtesy floats shall meet or exceed the standards as set forth on EM 1110-1-400. 4. The Contractor shall furnish product on or before 30 November 2012. The Contractor shall be required to be registered in the Central Contractor's registration (CCR). The Contractor shall provide a DUNS number (Data Universal Numbering System). The delivery shall be limited to Monday through Friday during daylight hours unless prior approval has been obtained from the Resource Manager.
