Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs Kansas City, MO Medical Center wishes to contract for installation of a redundant Code Blue/Nurse Call Infrastructure system. Install a redundant Code Blue/ Nurse Call (CBNC) infrastructure system to replace/repair the aging system now in use. Price will include relocation from present area to a secure environment, provided by customer outside of the telephone room. Price will include a new rack, UPS, emergency electrical circuit, and the relocation of all necessary wiring to current VAMC code for all items. The new system will be a turn-key solution with interfaces to the existing Executone CBNC and the VA Campus fire alarm system. The outputs from the new system will be compatible with the current Rcomm paging terminal to activate pages to the right numbers. Provide a separate workstation will communicate with the current PBX operator system, which should replace the presently outdated vindicator configuration. The price will include onsite removal of the old system components after validation and certification of the new components and backup are completed. Training of VA personnel as necessary to maintain, operate, and understand the components and system will be included. Request for Quote (RFQ) VA255-12-Q-1230 will be issued on or around August 20, 2012. Anticipated award date is September 3, 2012. Period of performance is for one year from date of award. The government is not responsible to make available paper copies. Questions must be submitted in writing to the contracting officer. If contractors submit questions, they are strongly encouraged to do so within ten calendar days after the issuance of the RFQ or three calendar days after the pre-proposal site visit. Verbal questions will not be addressed. All responses to questions which may affect offers will be incorporated into a written amendment to the solicitation. Offeror's are encouraged and are responsible for routinely checking the web site for any solicitation amendments that may be issued throughout the bid period. No individual notification of amendments will be provided. Bid due date is August 29, 2012 12NOON CST time. This is 100% set-aside for Small Business. The NAICS code for this requirement is 238210. The size standard is $14.0 million.
