- I. GENERAL This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. This is a Sources Sought Synopsis announcement; issued for market survey for information only, to be used for preliminary planning purposes. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this synopsis. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS SYNOPSIS. The U.S. General Services Administration - Public Buildings Service - Region 4 - Acquisition Management Division - Small Projects Branch has been tasked to solicit for and award a project to include Design-Build, Re-Caulking for Window to Concrete Joints and Skylight Joints, Peachtree Summit Federal Building 401 W. Peachtree St. NW, Atlanta, GA 30308. Proposed project will be a Fixed-Price contract. The type of solicitation to be issued will depend upon the responses to this synopsis. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow up information requests. The purpose of this synopsis is to solicit interest, capabilities and qualifications of Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZone) vendors to compete and perform a Fixed-Price contract. The type of solicitation to be issued will depend upon the responses to this sources sought synopsis. II. REQUIREMENT DESCRIPTION The design build contractor will provide professional design service, staff, materials, supervision, and quality control. All materials will include, swing stage rental equipment, hazardous materials sampling and testing, digital cameras, scaffolding, construction signage, safety barriers supplies, all labor, coordination, quality control, cleanup, scheduling, and coordination for the needed removal of old caulking and backer rod and joint prep (width as needed) and installation of all new caulking and new backer rod for all the horizontal and vertical Aluminum Frame to Concrete Joints and including all existing sealed balcony sliding glass doors and re-caulk all Atrium Skylights at the Peachtree-Summit Federal Building at 401 W. Peachtree Street, NW, Atlanta, GA. Joints to be re-caulked on the high-rise building are aluminum frame to concrete structure joints. Also include all horizontal caulk joints between frame and concrete columns (if needed) and all lower level slab to frame joints at the aluminum frame wall areas at the lower Atrium level near West Peachtree Street and the Civic Center MARTA Station. Also all existing Skylights caulk and sealant joints are to be removed and re-done. Design-Builder shall investigate at site existing conditions, design and install glazing replacement for 24 (twenty-four) existing insulating glass window units on various floors and in various locations. Duration of project is 180 calendar days. North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this acquisition is 236220. Small Business Size Standard for this acquisition is 33.5MIL. III. SUBMISSION REQUIRMENTS Experience on similar projects is required for submitting a response under the sources sought. Similar is defined as new construction, repair and alteration, or modernization of federally owned or federally leased government buildings and/or courthouses. SUMBISION SHALL BE LIMITED TO TWO (2) SINGLE SIDED PAGES AND SHALL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION: •1. CONTACT INFORMATION - Name, Address, Point of Contact, Phone Number and E-mail Address •2. BUSINESS TYPE - Indicate business type •3. CAPABILITY STATEMENT - Include capability to execute "similar". Provide a brief description of the project, customer name (include point of contact), project duration, and dollar value of the project. Provide at least three (3) projects performed within the past five (5) years. •4. BONDING CAPACITY - Construction bonding level per contract and aggregate bonding level, both expressed in dollars. IV. SUBMISSION DEADLINE AND METHOD Interested Offerors shall respond to this Sources Sought Synopsis no later than 4:00PM (EST) August 30, 2012. All interested contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at https://www.sam.gov/sam to be eligible for award of Government contracts. Responses shall be submitted electronically via e-mail to Contract Specialist, Victor Cannon, at victor.cannon@gsa.gov. Oral communications, telecommunications and faxed inquires or comments are NOT acceptable as a response to this notice. Only e-mail responses will be acceptable.
