Description
Project Title: North Bridger Trails, located on the Bozeman Ranger District of the Gallatin National Forest. Description of Work: The North Bridger Trails project includes a Base and an Additive Item. Together, both items include the construction of approximately 5.7 miles of single-track, 24-inch trail in two separate locations that are approximately 20 miles apart. The work involves new trail construction, light clearing on existing roads, installation of drainage structures, sign installation, and other miscellaneous trail work. Project Location: BASE ITEM: The Upper Brackett Creek Trail, #526, is located in sections 35 and 36 of T02N, R06E, and sections 2 and 11 of T1N, R06E, north of Bozeman, MT. From Bozeman, travel northeast on Highway #86, Bridger Canyon Road, for approximately 18 miles and turn left (or west) on Forest Road (FR) #631, South Brackett Creek. Follow FR #631 for approximately 3 miles to the trailhead/trail #551. Follow trail #551 west for approximately 2 miles to the top of Ross Pass and the beginning of the project area. The north end of the project can be accessed by traveling Highway #86 an additional 2 miles to Battle Ridge Pass/Battle Ridge Campground and turning left, or west, on North Brackett Creek Road, FR #6607. Follow FR #6607 for approximately 4 miles to the project area at the north end of Ross Pass trail. ADDITIVE ITEM: The Hatfield Mountain Trail, #521, is located in section 3 of T03N, R06E and in section 34 of T04N, R06E, north of Bozeman, Montana. From Bozeman, travel northeast on Highway #86, Bridger Canyon Road, approximately 28 miles. Turn left, or west, on Flathead Pass Road and continue for approximately 4 miles. Turn right, or north, on Middle Fork Flathead Creek Road and continue on for approximately 4 miles to the Forest boundary and FR #642. Travel along FR #642 for approximately 2 miles to the end of the public road and the Hatfield trailhead. Follow the existing trail, #524, northeast to the project location. No pre-bid tour will be conducted. A Firm-Fixed Price contract is expected to result from this solicitation. Price range: $25,000 to $150,000. The solicitation will be available on approximately 31 August 2012, and can be downloaded from this website at that time.
