Description
The Dargon Point Project consists of harvest unit, harvest road layout and conducting a statistically sound timber cruise using the Point Count Measure Tree variable-radius plot and Sample Tree cruise methods, as provided in the Forest Service Handbook 2409.12 Chapter 35: Point Sampling, to provide the Government with collected timber cruise data to facilitate the timber sale appraisal process. This contract requires the work be in compliance with its terms, specifications, and provisions. This includes furnishing labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals. The Dargon Point Project Area is approximately three air miles north of the community of Naukati, Alaska, on the northwest side of Prince of Wales Island. The Forest Service assumes no obligation to plow snow or do special maintenance to keep roads open during the life of this contract. Individual units are accessible by some combination of 2- or 4-wheel drive vehicle, mountain bicycle, or foot travel. Contractor shall be responsible for adhering to the U.S. Forest Service travel management plan on the Thorne Bay Ranger District. The estimated price range for this acquisition is $25,000 - $75,000. The performance period is 60 days. The solicitation & drawings will be available for downloading at http://www.fedbizopps.gov on or about 17 Aug 12. Offers will be due approximately 30 calendar days after the solicitation issue date. It will be the responsibility of the bidder to check FedBizOpps for any amendments to the solicitation or this announcement. This solicitation will be evaluated in accordance with consideration for local contractors pursuant to Sec. 413 of the Department of Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriation Act of 2009 ( Division E of Public Law 111-8 Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2009).
