- Description
- The intent of the harvest unit traversing is to provide for the traversing up to an estimated 235,181 lineal feet of unit boundary line of an estimated 1100 acres +-20%. If the contract specifications differ from FSH 2409.12, the contract shall take precedence. Payment for contract work will be made only for and under those pay items included in the Schedule of Items. All other work and materials will be considered incidental to and included in the payment for the items shown. The Saddle Lakes project area is approximately 15 air miles southeast of Ketchikan, Alaska, between George and Carol Inlets. The sale area can be accessed from both the Coon Cove Log Transfer Facility and the Shelter Cove Log Transfer Facility. The project area is accessed by air transportation or boat from Ketchikan, AK. Work locations are accessible from the existing road system starting at the Shelter Cove Log Transfer Facility. The Forest Service assumes no obligation to plow snow or do special maintenance to keep roads open during the life of this contract. Individual units are accessible by some combination of 2- or 4-wheel drive vehicle, mountain bicycle, or foot travel. Contractor shall be responsible for adhering to the U.S. Forest Service travel management plan on the Ketchikan Misty Fiords Ranger District. The estimated price range for this acquisition is $25,000 - $100,000. The performance period is 60 days. The solicitation & drawings will be available for downloading at http://www.fedbizopps.gov on or about 17 Aug 12. Offers will be due approximately 30 calendar days after the solicitation issue date. It will be the responsibility of the bidder to check FedBizOpps for any amendments to the solicitation or this announcement. This solicitation will be evaluated in accordance with consideration for local contractors pursuant to Sec. 413 of the Department of Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriation Act of 2009 ( Division E of Public Law 111-8 Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2009).
