AG-82X9-S-12-0186 Maps 4 of 4 Maps 3 of 4 Maps 2 of 4 Maps 1 of 4 Wage Rates Table of Units Fire Plan Appendix B Appendix A The USDA Forest Service, Rocky Mountain Region, Contracting Office located at 740 Simms Street, Golden, CO 80401 intends to award one Firm Fixed-Price contract for the Waldo Canyon burn area based on what the Government believes to be in its best interest. This acquisition is available for competition to both large and small businesses This contract will implement the emergency aerial mulching treatments to restore soil cover in critical High and Moderate Soil Burn Severity areas of the Waldo Canyon Fire within the National Forest System Lands Boundary and protect the citizens and infrastructure surrounding the fire perimeter, from the combination of increases in flood flows, sediment yield, landslides, and debris flows. Waldo Canyon Burned Area Emergency Rehabilitation (BAER) Aerial Mulching - Aerial application of Woodshred and Certified Weed-Free Ag-Straw will help reduce erosion and fosters plant growth. Aerial services are required to apply the mulch within steep and inaccessible roadless terrain. External capability aircrafts are needed to apply mulch to the ground to a continuous cover of uniform thickness to replace ground cover, maintain soil moisture and accelerate recovery of native vegetation.
